This song was inspired by Corrigan’s 19-year-old daughter and the experiences of her generation. In a 24/7 connected world the overwhelm for young people can be hard to beat. Add the restrictions to their lives posed by the recent pandemic and you have, for some, a perfect storm of desolation. This is a song of hope and humanity and of belief in the force of life and love that lies within all of us.
The vulnerability of the single vocal line shimmers above a stripped back piano, creating a cinematic, spacious and atmospheric feel. The cello adds depth and hook, embellished by the sudden swoop of backing vocals delivering sonic impact and heightening the emotional kick of the track.
